Additional Molding Machines and Automation
APM Press Release: November 8, 2008
Scottsburg, IN- American Plastic Molding Corp, known widely as APM, announced today the addition of two more large tonnage closed-loop, Cincinnati Milacron molding machines. As with the vast majority of APM's machines, these new aquisitions have been fitted with the latest technology in automation for part-to-part repeatibility and reduced operating costs and overhead.
Founder and owner Floyd Coates said that while in a difficult economic climate, many of his company's competitors were either in dire financial straits or had simply closed their doors, APM has been able to not only survive but take advantage of aggressive pricing available on new equipment.
Coates points out that, ironically, the down-turned economy has actually resulted in APM being awarded transferred business from numerous customers whose molders or assembly suppliers have either gone into bankruptcy or become unstable. Coates went on to say that APM has had so much experience in absorbing transferred tooling and product, that the organization has developed cross-functional teams and procedures to facilitate smooth and expeditious transfers.
APM now has 38 molding machines and 15,000 sq. ft. of assembly cell space in their 110,000 sq. ft. Midwest location serving a vast array of customers in injection molding, product assembly, product development and supply chain sourcing and management.
