1. What is your capacity?

Typically, our utilization is 65% of our maximum capacity. Currently, we run production for 75,000 hours out of 120,000 hours available.

2. What kind of materials do you run?

We are capable of running over 64,000 different injection molding materials. At any given time, we have about a thousand materials in stock. The materials we use range from engineered resins to custom formulations to commodity resins. The list includes, but is not limited to: ABS, acrylics, acetals, glass-reinforced blends, nylons, polycarbonates (PC), polyesters (PET, PBT), polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE), polystyrene (HIPS, MIPS), PPO, PPA, talc-filled materials, thermoplastic rubber (TPR), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), etc.

3. Do you have an in-house tool shop.

Yes, Southern Mold and Tool along with American Plastic Molding are owned by Floyd Coates.

4. Are you QS certified?

We are ISO 9001:2000 certified. We are reviewing certification to TS16949 as a continuous improvement activity.

5. Where are you located?

6. How many days per week do you run production?

We can run production 24 hours per day, six days per week. No Sunday production.

7. How many injection molding machines do you have?

8. What part drawing file formats can you accept?

CAD/CAM system with IGS, DXF, PRT, DWG, JPG, TIF, BMP, GIF, and sometimes even a napkin or pizza box.
